Signs it may be time to reach out
You do not need a diagnosis, or to be in crisis, to get help. It may be time to talk to someone if, for two weeks or more:
- You feel sad, empty, worried, or on edge most days.
- Sleep, eating, or energy has changed a lot.
- It is hard to work, study, or care for yourself or others.
- You are using alcohol or drugs to cope, or more than you want to.
- You pull away from people or things you used to enjoy.
- You have thoughts of hurting yourself. If so, please call or text 988 today.
Small things that help
- Tell one person how you are doing.
- Keep a simple routine for sleep and meals.
- Step outside for a few minutes of daylight.
- Try the breathing circle when your mind races.
- Write down one question to ask a provider.
