Older adults
Depression and anxiety are not a normal part of aging. Help works at any age.
Signs to watch for
- Loneliness or loss of interest after a move, a loss, or retirement.
- Changes in sleep, appetite, or memory. Tell a doctor; some causes are treatable.
- Drinking more, or misusing medications.
Getting care
- Ask your primary care doctor. Many offices offer behavioral health care.
- Find providers for older adults.
- Video visits can help if travel is hard.
Medicare
Medicare covers therapy, psychiatry, and a yearly depression screening. See Medicare on Paying for care.
